About the Recipe

This chutney is excellent for improving digestion and because of the cilantro, it is also a heavy metal detoxifier. When eaten as a delectable chutney is packs a potent punch. You can serve this bright green sauce as a digestive aid with any meal. It will freshen up and invigorate anything savory like lentil soups, grains, vegetables and breads.

Ingredients

  • 2 1/2 cups cilantro (leaves & stem)

  • 2 TBL fresh lime juice

  • 2 TBL water

  • 1 TBL peeled, fresh ginger

  • 1 Thai green chili, seeded (substitute with 1 jalapeno)

  • 1 tsp honey, maple syrup or a pitted date

  • 1/2 tsp natural salt

  • 1 TBL olive oil

Preparation

Step 1

Combine all ingredients in a blender except the olive oil. Blend until smooth. Stir in olive oil and serve with a variety of dishes.
